Dear Friends,
As we step into a new year, with all its change, hope and possibility, I wanted to write to you about a new chapter for the Poetry Pharmacy.
This spring, we will open a new shop in York, bringing poetry and the idea of words for wellbeing to a busy city street and giving it a permanent home there. It is something we have worked towards for a long time, and we believe it will offer greater security for our team and for the future of the business.
The months at the beginning of the year are often a time of reflection and renewal, but for independent businesses they can also be a difficult stretch. Opening a new shop involves a long period of work and cost before the doors open, and managing cash flow during this time requires care and optimism in equal measure.
